Healthy Tips:

1. Drink lots of water: I carry a stainless steel water bottle with me wherever I go to stay hydrated. My favourite feature of it is it is leak-proof and has a button the opens it so I can grab a sip with one hand.

2. Food Prep: the best way to ensure you always have healthy foods on hand is to pick one or two days out of the week when you focus on preparing healthy food for the rest of the week (ie: chop up veggies, make soup, roast veggies with spices). This really helps me to pick healthy foods when I'm lazy or tired from work.

3. Don't be so hard on yourself!!!: One thing that I have found in trying to find ways to lose weight, look better, or whatever, is that counting calories, looking at the scale everyday (even once a week), just causes me major stress which only increases the chance of me eating something crappy instead of healthy, to comfort me in my failures.

4. Exercise: just do something instead of being a couch potato!!! Even taking the dog for a longer walk every day is good.
          - Have some basic equipment at home: (dumbells, yoga mat, etc.) even if you belong to a gym there           are those nights when lets face it you drive straight home instead of hitting the gym. When this                         happens I make myself promise that I will at least do some free-weight exercises and before you                   know it I have tricked myself into a half-decent workout!]
          - Yoga is a great way to decompress: It relaxes the body and mind, so if you have a particularly                 stressful day look up a yoga video on youtube and play some soothing music to go with it.
         (ie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yka6KP9WTM)  - 20 min video

5. Have healthy snacks with you at all times: make up little baggies of unsalted nuts, healthy granola bars (ie: Kashi brand), and other items that do not require refrigeration, to keep in your purse, in your car, or at work. This should keep you satiated until you reach home, to prevent hitting up those delicious smelling fast food drive thru's (my weakness: MacDonald's fries....I heart potatoes)
